First
things first, I lost my bag. All I know
is that it is somewhere between San Francisco and Kathmandu. In the mean time the other members in the
group have been extremely kind in letting me use and borrow anything I
need. I bring this up because I am used
to having everything I need, and then some, and many of the people in here in
Nepal are not. I know this experience
doesn’t come close, but not having my bag has helped me to relate to some of
the people here in Nepal. Many of them
live without mountains of useless possessions that several of us, including
myself, consider “essential”. But they are still happy. They have what they need and what is
important to them. This way of life is
inspiring. How many of the things in my
house just sit there never being used? I
arrived in Nepal with what I had on my back.
For all intents and purposes the things on my back may as well be all I
have in the world. Everything else is
across the globe. I will go forward
remembering to stay humble, to live simply, and most important that I have the
key to happiness not my things.
I am so sorry for your bag and happy that you got the Key...
